Goods and services tax (GST ) is a value-added tax imposed on most domestic-consumption goods and services sold. Consumers pay GST but the businesses that supply the products and services hand it over to the government.

In order to comply with the provisions of Goods and Service Tax Law and the availability of eligible benefits, companies must register under the GST Act 2017 and take GST Number. In order to register for GST, taxpayers must submit certain documents, fill in the required business-related information, and submit the online application on the GST Portal. Upon filing the necessary details, the temporary reference number is assigned and the application is sent to the GST authorities for review and approval. In the event of any questions from the GST authorities, the application is sent back to the taxpayer seeking further clarification. In such a situation, taxpayers must provide adequate responses to the clarifications requested by GST authorities. Input tax credit helps you to of the tax already paid on goods and pay the remaining sum at the time the tax is charged.

You pay sales tax when a product is bought from a licensed seller and you also collect the tax when you sell the product. With input credit, the taxes collected at the time of purchase can be balanced with the amount of sales tax (output tax) and the balance of tax liability, i.e. sales tax minus purchase tax.

  • Things deemed to be essential requirements fall under the excluded list i.e. they are not taxed.
  • There is a 5% levy on household necessities and life-saving medicines etc.
  • Items such as computers and processed food are taxed at 12%.
  • The tax on hair oil, toothpaste, and soaps, capital products, manufacturing intermediaries, and services is 18%.
  • The tax on luxury goods is 28 percent.

The exemption cap is Rs. 40 lakh supply turnover for businesses in all but the northeast Indian states. Businesses in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura must obtain a GST registration if their supply turnover is greater than Rs . 10 lakh. As already stated, this threshold cap applies only to businesses operating within their home state. A business conducting trade with another state must obtain registration irrespective of the turnover.

4. Copy of Signatory Approved Board Resolution.

5. Copy of Company/LLP PAN Card.

6. Directors/Partners Details- PAN card, Adhaar card, Photo, Mobile number, Mail Id
